While I’m not at Dell World 2015 (travelling all around the globe - busy!!) we do have a couple EMCers (Brian Carpenter - @intheDC, and Brent Piatti - @BrentPiatti) there, and they’ve been blogging on their experience.
They cover the subjective (culture, feeling), innovation (including the DSS, FX2, VRTX solutions which are cool) and also what Michael Dell is saying.
Day 1:
- Michael Dell and Dell World impressions (Brent) here
- Michael Dell and Dell World impressions (Brian) here
Day 2:
- Keynote impressions (Brent) here
- Keynote impressions and learning about Dell Hyper-Scale (DCS), Rack Scale (DSS) and Appliance convergence (Brian) here.
Day 3:
- Dell FX2 impressions and thoughts (Brian) here.
- Dell VRTX impressions and thoughts about appliance options (Brent) here.
BTW – the two of them do a GREAT podcast (#TheHotAisle) which I strongly suggest subscribing to here.
I would consider Episode 8 of #TheHotAisle with EMC Ventures (and venture funding/inorganic innovation in general) mandatory listening for EMCers, fascinating for Dell – and frankly anyone in high-tech that wants to understand the overall dynamic of organic/inorganic innovation, and the web that interconnects the large players, the VC community, universities and startup ecosystems.
Interesting times (was good to see Brent and Brian at the event) - we had the Dell leadership team on theCUBE - here's our Dell World replay information http://siliconangle.tv/dell-world-2015
Our team provides unfiltered analysis at the end of each day - the Dell/EMC deal was of course the top item discussed throughout the entire event.
