EMC Velocity Partners – our journey to total transparency continues. After all the great feedback about the fact that we opened up the EMC Technology Consultant aka “TCs” (EMC’s current lingo for “Systems Engineers”) conference to our partners, it helped me make the case that we should open up all (that’s right ALL) our Q3 accreditation training to our partners.
Every quarter, the accreditation curriculum (about 40 hours in total) is what’s used by EMC to make sure our TCs are current on key stuff (some of which is mandatory like getting ready for the around the corner VNX software update aka Inyo), and also on optional courses (like next gen app stacks, SQL Server 2012, Windows Server 2012 launch readiness, VMware updates, Hadoop and more).
Couldn’t have happened as fast as it did without a ton of help from EMC Global Education, and key folks like Scott Crossman (thanks!)
To me it’s a really, REALLY simple philosophy (and I will continue to push this as hard as I can across all topics, training, bootcamps, workshops tools, etc – until I keel over or get canned :-)…. As the global leader of the EMC Presales/Systems Engineering team - if it’s not equally available to our EMC Partners – I’m simply not interested in whatever it is for the internal EMC team. In some cases, this means an NDA, but that’s easy enough.
