This session was focused on Oracle and vSphere. Yup – best practices, not only on performance and availability, but discussions around licensing and support.
The presentation was delivered by Jeff Browning and Sam Lucido who are responsible (as the proverbial “tribal shaman and chieftain” of our virtual tribe of Oracle super-fans within and beyond the walls of EMC) here at EMC for the “Everything Oracle at EMC” community – ground zero for all sorts of awesome Oracle/EMC content. BTW – there are similar “Everything ___ at EMC” communities – WIDE OPEN (to the public at large – customers, partners, EMCers – anyone!), filled with content/tools/tricks for SAP and Microsoft, and of course, VMware.
The session was very popular. Read on for more (including access to all the content, and the session results)

I’m not sure if I’m supposed to do this – but what the heck. Here is the session feedback form the speakers get. The session got a 4.55, a good score. Useful to see if this content might be of interest to you…
One note – as much as we try in the EMC-led sessions to make them generally applicable – not every VMworld attendee is an EMC customer – though more are than anyone else :-) - we recognize it’s VMworld – not EMC World. This content (in spite of that one comment below) is very applicable generally.

- Great session and great speakers. Bring these gentlemen back to the next event for sure.
- Great session with knowledgable and personable presenters.
- Nice to have the best practices from a $ perspective in addition to the performance perspective.
- The best session I went to all week!!
- This is the best session I have attended at VMworld. The information is exactly what so many of us yearn for.
- This was the best session I attended at VMworld 2010. Good, unbiased, unvarnished recommendations that were specific, direct and meaningful.
- Well done with a complex topic in a limited time.
- Would have preferred vendor neutral storage discussion. Tons of great info.
