Looking for software developers with VMware domain experience for work in Irvine California.
There are 2 Principle Engineer and 3 Senior Engineer recs open now. More openings are expected to follow.
There will also be QA positions posted soon.
Specifically interested in individuals who have an interest and some level of experience in writing software for commercial resale, as opposed to those with a career exclusively in the IT realm.
The job description for the Principle Engineer positions is as follows:
Responsibilities:
- Design, implement, port, document, test and debug major system software components.
- Analyze and fix complex software, system, and network problems.
- Write functional and design specifications as well as respond to requirements documents and system level test plans.
- Participate in maintenance activity and assist on critical customer issues and escalations.
Skills:
- Strong C++, Java, or C# programming skills for Windows AND Unix platforms for large scale networked applications.
- Demonstrated problem solving skills & ability to mentor new and junior software engineers.
- In-depth knowledge of storage architecture and file systems.
- Excellent communication skills (verbal and written).
Education and experience:
- Masters, B.Eng or B.Sc, Computer Science, Electrical or Computer Engineering, mathematics, physics.
- 8 years of total software design, development and maintenance experience, with 3 years recent experience in designing software components used in production software for volume resale.
- Experience with Web service implementation.
- Experience with SERVER virtualization, VMware VCP preferred.
- Enterprise storage experience, EMC Proven Professional status desired, or equivalent with other enterprise storage solutions
- Enterprise networking implementation experience required.
The job description for the Senior Engineer position is:
Responsibilities:
- Writes high level design specs, unit test plans and integration test plans.
- Analyze and code complex modules, define data structures, and specify test tools.
- Accountable for delivery of subsystems, anticipate issues and addresses proactively.
- Contributes to the development and achievement of organizational goals and objectives.
- Participate in maintenance activity and assist on critical customer support issues and escalations.
Skills:
- Knowledge of C++, Java, or C# languages with experience on BOTH Windows and Unix platforms.
- Experience with implementing large scale networked systems.
- Good communication skills (verbal and written).
- Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment.
- Experienced with use of standard version control and bug reported processes and systems.
Education and experience:
- Masters, B.Eng or B.Sc, Computer Science, Electrical or Computer Engineering, mathematics, physics.
- 5 years of total software design, development and maintenance experience, with 2 years recent experience in designing software components used in production software for volume resale.
- The following experience would be a plus: Web service implementation; Enterprise SERVER virtualization, experience with configuring and troubleshooting enterprise storage and networking.

EMC Corp stock. Whats your opinion on it? I have done some research on it and am thinking about buying a couple hundred shares. Whats your opinion on it everyone?
