My hat’s off to all the Olympians – was a great Olympics.
It’s strange for Canadians to celebrate success and achievement. Strangely – it’s a cultural attribute to downplay competing and winning.
To end the way it did – with a GREAT hockey final against a great competitor in the US team – and to come down to a nail-biter.. it was awesome!
I’m very proud of the Canadian team’s performance – ending with more gold medals than any country (not just host country) ever.
To understand the Canadian psyche a bit here – this Tom Brokaw video (“Explaining Canada to Americans”) really captures Canada (and our relationship to the US) well.
Here’s a bit of a personal view into a normal Canadian’s home last night watching the game…
Again – my hats off to all the athletes and the teams that made the Olympics happen!
QUALITY game. I was really hoping the US could pull it out but, if you would have told me USA would have gotten a silver prior to the Olympics, I wouldn't have believed you. Having a goalie that stood on his head certainly helped. Congrats to Canada for a win on home soil. This game won't be removed from DVR anytime soon.

My image or likeness can not be used or rebroadcasted without the express written consent of the Spargo household and the Olympic broadcasting committee. Great time Chad! - and amazingly you went almost 3 straight hours without a single reference to virtualization or storage technologies - nice to know that you can take a break once every 4 years.
