To all – thank you for voting in Eric Seibert’s vSphere-Land – I’m blown away that people would consider VirtualGeek for the #2 spot in the list. I’d also like to extend my thanks to my colleagues at EMC and VMware, and of course to my global team of vSpecialists (known on twitter by all sorts of things, including “Chad’s vArmy”, “vGeek Squad”).
All the blogs on the list are fantastic, and I learn stuff from them all the time – I’d highly recommend adding them to your RSS feeds.
Well – I guess that means I need to double-down and commit to keeping it up :-) Like most folks – the blogging efforts come on top of my day job, and it keeps me pretty busy – but I find it very satisfying, and have found it to be a great way to make new friends, communicate with customers, partners, and even competitors.
I’ve got a couple more “non-technical” (but important!) blog posts to put up in the next little bit, but will always come back to my nerdy roots, and try my best to keep it as low level as possible :-)
I think I have an unfair advantage. In my day job (I’m responsible for all VMware-related things at EMC), I’m in a very fortunate position – I get to see, participate in (and perhaps even influence a little bit – hopefully for the better) in the long term picture. It means that sometimes I need to tread very carefully on the blog. After all, we’re debating the late 2011 and 2012 roadmaps right now – but those are things that obviously cannot be discussed openly.
But I can tell you three things…
- We’ll continue to do our best to continue to innovate, and bring cool stuff that helps our customers.
- I’ll do my best to discuss/help on VirtualGeek (and upcoming public properties) to disseminate info and help
- 2010 deliverables are locked and loaded… and 2010 will be a very exciting year!
