Today – in celebration of the Cisco Unified Compute System FCS (First Customer Ship) and listing on the EMC eLab support matrix, I thought I would do a HOWTO video post on enabling 10GbE VMDirectPathIO on vSphere 4.
This was recorded by some of my team-members in the EMC VMware Specialist crew while playing with UCS at the EMC eLab location – team, you rock!
You can download the high-rez verion here.
Very cool stuff. We are playing furiously with all sorts of 10GbE NFS, iSCSI anf FCoE configs with vSphere – will post more findings as they come in!
Great work Chad + team :-) Can't wait to see the storage protocol testing results over VMDirectPath !

Pft - it's great seeing vSphere do I/O benchmarks but I want to see it put to use. I'm not talking about the 'lightweight' Exchange whitepapers - how about something with a bit more I/O?...
How about Networker in vSphere? ;-)
