This is going to be… interesting. Often trying to find someone at a big conference like VMworld is a challenge. So why not actually MAKE it into a challenge?
At VMworld 2011 – we will be doing a twitter-based scavenger hunt. It’s a weird chad-ism, but I LOVE scavenger hunts, riddles and the like, so I’m in :-)
It’s simple:
- Start following some vSpecialists. vTexan (@vtexan) did a post on vhunt here. Matt Cowger (@mcowger) did a post here. (BTW, these are excellent blogs in their own right). Other folks participating: Scott Lowe – @scott_lowe; Rick Scherer – @rick_vmwaretips; Nick Weaver – @lynxbat; Fred Nix – @VCEMonk; Bas Raayman – @basraayman; Dave Henry – @davemhenry; Chris Horn – @Horn_Chris; Mark Twomey – @storagezilla. I’m participating too: Chad Sakac – @sakacc. There will be others too :-)
- We will each be tweeting various tasks or challenges throughout VMworld. Day and Night, on the floor, in the labs, in the sessions, at the parties, etc. If it’s vhunt related – it will be tagged: #vhunt.
- Some tasks/challenges will be easy, some will be hard.
- All the participants are going to get dudded up in… distinctive… outfits to help make it easy to find them.
- If you complete a challenge, and reply with the #vhunt hash tag – your tweets will be tallied up, and you win prizes:
- There will be 3 winners each day.
- The contest will run Monday, Tuesday and Wed.
- each day, there will be iPads, PS3s and Iomega PX gear given away.
Let the #vhunt begin!

Sounds like a blast.
