The folks at Greenplum rock. Great technology, great people.
They are on a roller coaster now – having gone from a small, killer startup to a group that is hiring people by the HUNDREDS :-)
Was funny at our Americas sales kick-off, Scott Yara was saying that post acquistion, people were saying “don’t worry about it – you’ll fit right in, you won’t even notice a change”, and his thought was “well, last year’s sales kickoff was in our ping-pong room. This year, it’s in a room with 5000 people!”
That said, they do fit right in, and they are helping us go after new exciting businesses… and I love their sense of humor. Read on and check these out gag videos – they are AWESOME :-)
Big Data is absolutely something EMC is focused on, and has the industry’s best people, and best technology to help our customers.
Oh – did I say it was easier, faster, and less expensive?
One thing is for sure, these hit the humor mark much better than the humor in the mega-launch broadcast. Kudos to the Greenplum team!
