I know I’m “Mr. VMware at EMC”, and have talked a lot about View, but sometimes people take that to mean EMC doesn’t support, and embrace customers that choose XenDesktop.
The vSpecialist crew has been involved in a lot of these deployments lately, and it reminded me that I need to post some links to useful docs.
These are the reference architectures for Citrix XenDesktop 4 on EMC Unified, leveraging NFS. These came out a while ago, and we’re updating for XenDesktop 5, and also to incorporate all the coolness of FAST Cache, FLARE 30 and DART 6.0 – the things they bring to XenDesktop are similar to what they bring to View 4 (better user experience, lower cost).
The Reference Architecture doc (think “summary of config and findings”) is H8020, and you can download it by clicking on the below.

Definitely looking forward to see the updated document. We have been running a NS-120 + Flare 30 + Fastv2 + 10GB iSCSI + XD 4.0 since late August...... And are starting to use Fast Cache.
I would be curious to see if the reference architecture will use iSCSI
(to leverage Fast v2 + Fast Cache).
