One of my favorite work-related tasks are customer councils. For those of you who aren’t EMC customers (though I’m sure other vendors do something similar), these are intimate off-site with our customers. Sales are not allowed. all topics are on the table – what we do well and not well – what they like, and what they don’t. We share roadmaps and plans - and customers give us feedback.
Just finished one here in London (in this example – 12 large UK customers) – focused on what we’re doing re VMware and EMC, and also in the VMware/Cisco/EMC efforts. Fascinating dialog inlcuding prioritization input over the next 6, 12, and 24 month periods. Fascinating input.
