As I’ve said before – there’s so much happening on the VMware front at EMC, it’s a constant torrent (BTW - I added the Cisco/EMC Partner Exchange keynote video to my earlier post in M4v format for anyone who wants it on their ipod)
Ok – here we go (in the words of one of our best VMware Tech Specialists from the west coast – Alex Candelaria - “your 30 seconds of VMware starts now!”
1) At the entry-level– the Iomega ix4-200r Ships
What is it? It’s a 1U rackmounted NAS/iSCSI device) has shipped and joins it’s smaller brethren on the VMware HCL.
We’re doing this because SMB and large retails shops are looking for “all-in” VMware solutions (with all functionality) at very low price points. the ix4-200r (which comes in 2TB and 4TB flavors) is the first of the Iomega platforms with enough CPU juice for us to be able to develop the more advanced replication techniques needed for things like SRM support, but through the inevitable march of technology, this will drift down, down, down as the smaller platforms are refreshed (they all run common Lifeline code).
You can read more on this at Duncan’s always awesome blog:

and here on ‘Zilla’s blog:

After the next iomega refresh, I’m going to work (can’t make a promise, but will try) to get a stash of them to give out to EMC VMware Champions and VMware SEs – some of you even have ix4-200r’s inbound soon.
2) At the high-end – the Symmetrix V-Max and VMware Applied Technology guide is available
In my march to get all the EMC goodness on EMC.com (damn the torpedoes of “competitors using it against us” – who cares? We’re the leader and the customer comes first) and not just behind powerlink, I’m always happy when a team gets it and does it before I have to ask :-)
From the fantastic Bala Ganeshan (the Chief Technologist for Server Virtualization in the Symmetrix team) – a good detailed “howto” on using your new Symmetrix V-Max and VMware. Really good stuff in here. All the teams are furiously working on the upcoming vSphere updates.
And because straight up platform stuff with VMware is cool, but what people REALLY want is to see how the end-to-end stack (Exchange/SQL Server/Sharepoint) work on VMware on infrastructure, here is the whitepaper showing Exchange 2007, MOSS 2007, and SQL Server 2008 on VI3.5 on V-Max.
Mid-range folks – don’t worry – great stuff coming for you too soon!
3) On the technical training front….
EMC TCs, VMware SEs, and Cisco Datacenter SEs – EMC’s updated “VMware Academy” is rolling out on April 21st. This includes all the latest tools, demos, and deep-dive training for the vSphere (and includes updated EMC training and Cisco Nexus/UCS info) era is coming to a city near you soon (they start the DAY OF THE vSphere launch – April 21st at 17 cities across the Americas). It’s brought to you by your local EMC VMware Technical Specialist in the Americas (as I need to be at the launch itself). This is an incredibly dense 2 day session (bring pizza and beer, you’re going to be locked in a room). I’m doing the ones in Paris, London and Munich to jumpstart EMEA personally while the Americas team hits all the local spots. If you’re an EMCer, you can register here: https://learning.emc.com/Saba/Web/Main/goto/177420851
If you’re a VMware SE who is interested, or a Cisco Datacenter SE – reach out to your local EMC VMware Specialist, and if you don’t know who that is, ping me (you can guess my email pretty easily, or just look at the about page).

You're missing the n in "learning.emc.com" in the last link :)
